ADult adhd therapy
Living with ADHD often comes with an "ADHD Tax" which often includes financial strains (such as frequent unpaid parking tickets, the costs to replace phones you've misplaced, getting fired from jobs or impulsively quitting jobs) and social strains, as well (including overbearing or micromanaging bosses or partners, frequent conflict over remembering to do tasks or having a laundry list of half-finished projects, or even the rejection sensitivity dysphoria with a partner).

So for many who have already been diagnosed with ADHD, it can be overwhelming to not only keep your head above water with all of the tasks and chores, but also manage the emotional strain that living with ADHD can cause. While medication will always be the most effective treatment to manage symptoms of your ADHD, therapy can be a useful add-on in your treatment in order to process the emotional and relational components of this diagnosis.

In our sessions, you'll gain knowledge about ADHD, explore potential tools and strategies to manage executive functioning, explore and manage the emotional impacts associated with ADHD (like rejection sensitivity dysphoria and conflict stemming from demand avoidance) and identify new ways to communicate your needs and capabilities to your loved ones. While our conversations may go down many different rabbit holes, our goals will focus on improving your ability to manage life on your terms.
